The new year is often the time when people are making promises to themselves for better life choices.
Simply taking a walk is a good promise to make to yourself. Walking is a good time for;
1. Self-reflection.
2. Improving circulation.
3. Walking out tensions and emotional distress.
4. If you live in the northern latitudes and dress sparsely from May through September you also benefit from absorbing sunrays for the production of vitamin D.
5. Being exposed to sunlight any time of the year resets your circadian rhythm and boosts mood.
6. Increase oxygen in your cells so that they can do their job better.
7. Time to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings.
8. If you use walking poles, you can also increase the exercise to more of your body while burning more calories then without them. And you also reduce stress on the joints of your lower body.
Walk on!

FUN FACT
One study found that people who make specific resolutions, like “I will walk for 20 minutes every day” instead of vague ones like “I’ll exercise more,” are about 10 times more likely to keep them.
So, trick yourself into success by being ultra-specific, set bite-sized goals, and reward yourself when you hit them!
